Cabinet Minister for Children and Young People Meets with Hurdle

Hurdle is a support service dedicated to reducing the number of children being taken into care each year. We work with parents and parents-to-be who have experienced, or are at risk of, the repeated removal of children from their care. Hurdle helps them overcome the significant emotional, personal and practical problems which prevent them providing a safe, secure home and future for themselves and their children.

On 13th September Councillor Patricia Seaman, Cabinet Minister for Children and Young People, came to meet with Carly and Mandy to find out more about the work of Hurdle and the support it provides.

This was a positive and constructive meeting with the Councillor showing great interest in Hurdle and being eager to learn more about the ways we support parents and the sessions we provide.

She clearly understood the importance and necessity of the support Hurdle provides in this area and the significant impact it has on families. We are confident that the Councillor will be seeking to highlight the work of Hurdle within her sector, and its importance and relevance to the potential for service change.
